Obituary

Shirley Ann Brehm (Eakles), 89, of Enon Valley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Brighton Township.

Born on February 23, 1933, in Freedom, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Brehm and Linda (Weaver) Hartshorn.

Shirley held numerous occupations throughout her life, some to include being a cook, working on the railroad, and driving school bus.  In her free time, she enjoyed camping with her family, watching NASCAR races, and needlework making afghans.

Shirley is survived by her children, Linda Breen, Betty Eakles, Queennette (Robert) Mattocks, Kenny (Rhonda) Eakles, Bert Eakles, and Ronnie Eakles; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a sister, Queennette Zahodni; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her children, Kathy (Eakles) Plassmeyer-O’Neal, and Ralph Eakles; a grandson, Robert L. Mattocks, III; her siblings, Jim, John, Don (Agnes), Tom (Theresa) Brehm, Betty Beighty, Louise, Marilyn, and Laura.

In accordance with her wishes, Shirley will be cremated and no services are being planned at this time.
