Obituary

Stanley “Bucky” Krzemienski, 77, of Beaver Falls, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

Born May 13, 1945 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late John Stanley and Genevieve (Mujwit) Krzemienski.  Better known as “Bucky”, a nickname he received as a child because of his habit of throwing buckeyes from a neighborhood tree, he attended Holy Trinity Catholic School, then graduated from Beaver Falls High School.  He was a member of the Holy Trinity (Divine Mercy) Parish, the Elks Club, the American Legion, and the Polish Falcons.  He honorably served in the U.S. Army in the 1960’s.  He played softball for many years, enjoyed golfing, and was a fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers, as well as his brother Tom’s alma mater, Michigan State.

Bucky was beloved by all of his brothers and sisters, as well as his extended family that included 15 nieces and nephews and another 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.  Bucky was an equally loving husband to his wife, Lauren (Lyon), to whom he was married for 39 years until her death in 2011.

As large as Bucky’s family was, it was small compared to the extended community he developed during his 53 years working at Kelly Hardware.  An expert at mixing paint and finding items few even knew existed for their hardware needs, Bucky often found lines of customers who refused to be served by anyone else in the store.  Because of his lifelong dedication to the store, Bucky became a semi-official member of the Jack Kelly and Merle Wagoner families.  Indeed, there were very few people in and around Beaver Falls who had not purchased something from Bucky during his time at Kelly’s.

After Kelly’s closed, Bucky could be found almost daily having breakfast at Athens and dinner at Yolanda’s.  He was social to the very end.  To say that he will be missed by all who knew him, especially those who were fortunate enough to call him brother, cousin, nephew, or uncle- is not nearly enough to convey how special of a person he was.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 6 brothers, John, Walter, William, Tom, Edward and his wife Helen, and Ted and his wife Marilyn Krzemienski; 3 sisters and their husbands, Elizabeth and Clarence Takacs, Mildred and Richard Chiappetta, and Rose and Walter Olczak; a great-nephew, Ryan Chiappetta; and a brother-in-law, Alfred Karwoski.

He is survived by 7 sisters, Valerie Krzemienski, Patricia Karwoski, Carol (William) Onesta, Eleanor Krzemienski, Dorothy Krzemienski, Alicia (Toni) Krzemienski and Dolores Krzemienski; and a sister-in-law, Merry Krzemienski.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 12th from 2pm until the time of a blessing service at 4pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME-117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp-www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com.  Father Kim Schreck will officiate.

Private interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

  1. Val and family, I’m so very sorry for your loss of your brother. I am sending you my condolences and prayers. Val, I’m sending you a big hug.

  2. I feel so badly to read that Bucky passed away. He was an usher in our wedding and kept us all in stitches. He was a great guy. We don’t make it back to BF like we used to but the last time we saw Bucky as at Kelly’s. RIP with Lauren now.
