Obituary

Stanley M. Lapinski, 91, of Chippewa Twp., died peacefully at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation on Thursday, June 29, 2017.Born October 29, 1925, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Stanislaus and Mary (Kopczynska) Lapinski. Stanley was a member of the Chippewa Democratic Club. He loved attending sporting events, especially the Pirates, Penguins, Steelers and Blackhawk High School teams as well as Pymatuning Valley football. He loved to travel, especially bus trips, listening to polka music and cutting grass. In 2002, Stanley received his honorary high school diploma from Beaver Falls High School with a group of World War II veterans. He regularly attended the annual Beaver County Marine Corps birthday ball.Stanley is survived by his son, Robert Lapinski; daughter, Patti (Larry) Croston; two grandchildren, Lesley Croston and Neal (Danielle) Croston; three great-grandsons, Ryan, Sean and Adam Croston; three sisters-in-law, Georgiana Bercik, Mary (Mike) Hayden and Elizabeth (Richard) Hobart; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Susie J. (Bercik) Lapinski; three brothers Thaddeus and John Cholewski and Celestine “Sam” Holewski; and a sister Regina Book.Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, where prayers will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Monica’s Chippewa. Father Bill Schwartz will officiate. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Veterans Honor Guard will meet at the cemetery at 11 a.m. to conduct full military honors.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 3rd floor nursing staff at Heritage Valley Beaver and the nurses, aides and therapists at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation, South Beaver Twp.

  1. So very sorry to her of Leon's passing. We remember foundry attending "A Night At The Races" with Leon and Carole raising money for the Baseball Teams.. Our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.
