R. Steven Ellis
Bridgewater

R. Steven Ellis, 63, of Bridgewater, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 5, 2016, in Heritage Valley Beaver.
He was born June 1, 1953, in Rochester, and was the son of the late Robert Lewis and Margaret Ann Staub Ellis.

Steven had lived in Bridgewater for the past 20 years and had been a teacher at Monaca Elementary in 1975, at South Side Elementary in 1982, South Side High School in 1988 teaching special education. He was a graduate of Beaver High School in 1971 and Edinboro State College in 1975. Steven loved all the Pittsburgh sports teams, enjoyed spending time at his camp in the mountains and never met a stranger.

Surviving him are his wife, Helena Decker Ellis; two brothers, Jeff (Lisa) Ellis, Brighton township, J. Scott (Kim) Ellis, Transfer, Pa.; a sister, Kathy (Dan) Daley, Salem Ohio; 9 nieces and nephews and 5 great-nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. by Reverend Mark Boyd of the Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver. Interment will be in Beaver Cemetery.
