Obituary

Thomas Jefferson Bevington
Ohioville Borough

Thomas Jefferson Bevington, 81 years old, passed away unexpectedly and remarkably at his place of birth on his Dutch Ridge Road farm on January 8th, 2020.

Tom was a very hard working, loyal, and dignified man; husband to Karol, his wife of 32 years, and a wonderful father to all of his children.  He will be eternally missed by all who knew him.

Born August 26th, 1938, he was a lifelong resident of Brighton Township/Ohioville and a graduate of Beaver High School, class of 1959.

He retired from King’s Mirror and Glass in Beaver Falls, PA after 26 years of service and was also an exceptional carpenter, handyman, and woodworker sought after by many.

Tom cherished spending time with his grandcat, Peach.  He enjoyed feeding the wild birds, squirrels, deer, and more who visited his backyard daily.  Tom also loved to read, especially Western novels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Edna Ruth (Tice) Bevington, his three brothers, Samuel Jr., Don, and Harry.  Surviving are his sisters, Mary Suchy, Ruth (Ray) Morgan, Rose (Jim) Boyce, and Mollie Mineard, two sisters-in-law, Nancy Bevington and Nita Bevington, his children, Kimberly Stone, Kathy (Jim) Uebelacker, Kristy (Bill) Edmunds, Missy (Bill) Plumm, Michael (Daniella) DeRicco, and Sarah (Gaku) Hinobayashi, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a former daughter-in-law Debbee DeRicco, and his very special friends, Bob Montgomery, Deborah Lehman, Pam Gottschalk, and Johnny and Joannie Pitzer.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, January 12th at Todd Funeral Home.  A gathering for friends and family will immediately follow visitation at Bridgewater United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the funeral home.
