Obituary
Vincent Maljevec Sr., 86, of Beaver died peacefully Friday August 8 in Heritage Valley, Beaver. He was born June 12, 1928 in Bridgewater and was the son of the late Matthew and Margaret C. Pauvlinich Maljevec. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving and caring wife of 53 years Helen (Kasunich) in December 2013, 2 infant brothers, George and John, his older brother Matthew and younger brother Rudolph.
Surviving are his sons, Joseph, Wappingers Falls, NY and Vincent Jr. of Rochester, a sister Dolly (Edith) Jaskiewicz, New Brighton, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
The extended Maljevec, Kasunich and Jaskiewicz families enjoyed countless wonderful times over the years and the memories of the people and experiences will be cherished forever. Self educated for most of his life, Vincent was an extremely motivated and hard worker from an early age. He served in the Army in Germany and worked in the motor pool where he could foster his passion of all things mechanical, but especially cars. Upon discharge, he worked for 45 years and retired from Westinghouse in Vanport along with driving a school bus which he loved to do. Vincent also enjoyed his vegetable garden and had a wonderful knack for growing things, which he attributed to his parents and father-in-law, Stephen Kasunich. He was a devoted member of Presentation Catholic Church in Midland and later at SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church of Beaver. He was a caring and faithful husband to his wife Helen and a strong father for his 2 sons and will be dearly missed.
Friends will be received Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver and a Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated Monday at 11 AM in SS Peter and Paul Church by Father Robert Miller. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
