Vonnita Cheryl Smith-West

Vonnita Cheryl Smith-West, 56, of Pleasantview Homes, Beaver Falls, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday April 29 in her home. She was born June 18, 1957 in Rochester and was the daughter of the late Vongray and Zelma Brown Smith. Vonnita had been a CNA at Providence Hospital and later worked for Anchor Hocking in Monaca. She was a member of the St. John AME Church, Bridgewater and served as the choir director and caretaker and was on the Stewardess and Missionary Boards of the Church.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Brandice K. Shreve-Hilton, Amanda Leigh West and Alauna Mae West, all of Beaver Falls, 13 grandchildren, Tienne, Caliyah, Lanair, Lanae, Samuel, Leo Nydos, Haela, Malachi, Demir, Jasiah, Mykayle, Kazir and Alaiya, whom she dearly loved. Also a sister, Janet E. Brown, Beaver Falls and a nephew, Kenneth (Christina) Brown and 2 great nieces and a host of family and friends.

Friends were received Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and Saturday 1 until service time at 2 PM in the St. John AME Church, Bridgewater. Her Pastor Reverend Linda Moore officiated. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the St. John AME Church, 715 Mulberry St. Bridgewater, PA 15009.
