Warren ‘Woody’ Watson, 91, of Beaver passed away Friday August 25 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Brighton Township. He was born June 28, 1926 in Industry and was the son of the late Ernest P. and Myrtle Watson. He was married for 54 years to the love of his life, the late LaVena Hunter Watson. He was a WWII Veteran, having served in Germany in the Army Air Corp. Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife are his sisters Marion Watson Deen, Lt. Col. Beverly Watson McMurray and Shirley Watson Judd and his brother Lt. Ernest L. Watson, who was killed in action during WWII. He retired from Duquesne Light Company as an equipment operator, in 1989, after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Rochester/Beaver Lions Club, Rochester VFW, New Brighton Croation Club, Beaver Falls Turners and the Beaver Falls Legion. He is survived by his children Donald (Robin) Watson, Daugherty Twp., Jody (Kent) Yozie, Dunbar, PA and Scott Watson, Pittsburgh, grandchildren, Justin Ferlich and Melanie (Eric) Hartzog and his great-granddaughter Annabelle Hartzog. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 until service time at 8PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver. Dr. Reverend Jordan Rimmer of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in New Brighton will officiate. Interment will be private in Beaver Cemetery. The family would like to the following for the care Dad received. Dr. David Jansma and staff, Concordia Home Health, Dr. Dale Yakish and staff, the Cardiopulmonary Unit at HVB and Good Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite Veterans’ charity in Warren’s memory.

So sorry for your loss. I have a lot of very fond memories of your husband and father. I can still remember the day you moved across the road from us on Tuscarawas Road and I was so excited to see a kid my age (Scott) and turned out there was an Anderson the same age as all us Shallcross’s. I can remember as if it was yesterday coming over and watching my very first TV show on a color TV, Batman!! I remember the Paul Shannon Back yard carnival for Muscular Dystrophy we had in your yard and Sowash’s yard. All the hours in the woods behind your house. I am so sorry I missed the viewing and funeral I feel terrible. I would have loved to seen and talk with everyone. I was out of town and returned only to read about Mr. Anderson’s passing. I was very sad. You all were great neighbors to grow up with. My deepest sympathy. Dave Shallcross
