Obituary

Wendy Sue May, 49, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Rochester Manor & Villa.

Born August 16, 1975, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late William Sr. and Sandra (Wolff) Icenhour.

Wendy dedicated part of her career as a district director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association before becoming a devoted stay-at-home mother. She had a gift for making those around her feel loved and welcomed, whether through heartfelt conversation, her talent for baking, or her joy in decorating for the holidays—especially Christmas. Wendy also loved getting lost in a good book and cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son, Luke May; siblings, Katrina Icenhour, Kelly Rigby, and Jason Dobbins, her grandfather, William Wolff Sr., her uncle, William Wolff Jr., nieces and nephews, Eileen, with whom she shared a special bond, Pamela, Kristy, Joel,  Adam, Haylie and Savannah; as well as many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, and her beloved husband, Darrell Alan May; and her grandmother, Kathryn Wolff. We take comfort in knowing they are together again.

A small memorial will be held for close family only.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society in Wendy’s honor.
