Obituary

William A. Staats, 95, of Beaver, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Cambridge Village, Patterson Township.

Born on December 20, 1930, in Liverpool, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Rachel (Knopp) Staats.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.  Following his discharge, he worked for Crucible Steel where he retired after 30 years of service.  He had also worked for Sears Automotive for several years as well as Sky Bank as a courier.  Bill was a member of the Jamie Jammers Square Dance Club, Beaver County Men’s Bowling League, Men of Melody Singers, the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department, and spent many years as a baseball coach.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 ½ years, Blanche (Popp) Staats; his son, Gary (Casey) Staats; grandchildren, Krista (Joshua) Borgardt, Ashley (Eric) Krepps, Easton Staats, Amanda (George) Daquilla, Leighanne Nusser, Lauren Csoman, and Heather Rohm; great-grandchildren, Travis (Kahli) Krepps, Austin Krepps, Alana Krepps, Cheyenne Csoman, Blake Nusser, Phoenix Riley, Soren Riley, and Jack Riley; a brother-in-law, Earl Preston; a sister-in-law, Barbara Sitler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Zelma Staats, Eleanor (Harley) Webb, and Arlene Preston.

Friends will be received on Saturday, December 27^th from 1PM until the time of services at 4PM in the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (Branch), 340 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009.
