William James
“Weasel” Early
Oct 23, 1966 — Jul 3, 2024
William James "Weasel" Early, 57, of New Brighton, PA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in his residence.
Weasel was born October 23, 1966, in New Brighton, PA to William E. Early and the late Ann (Lamey) Early. He was a loving father, brother and friend. He retired from the Chippewa Police Department after 30 years of service where he held positions as Patrolman, Sergeant and Lieutenant Detective. Weasel loved being a police officer and had a true passion for it. He was viewed by many officers as a top-notch detective and was the "go to guy" in the county.
He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, both watching them and as a participant. He had very fond memories of playing baseball as a young man with his lifelong friends from grade school. He also enjoyed time at camp with these same guys hunting and fishing and telling very tall tales. He also enjoyed hanging out at the Eagles Club in the afternoons watching game shows and Pittsburgh sports with a whole different set of buddies.
Weasel was so very proud of his son "lil weaz" particularly when he was a member of the US Army. He also got great enjoyment out of coaching and watching him play baseball as a youngster. He often said I wish I could hunt fish and golf like I used to so I could do it with "lil weaz" who he loved very much.
In addition to his father Bill, he is survived by his son, Christopher "lil weaz" Early; mother of his son, Shellie Early; a sister, Cynthia (Dan DeBolt) Early; and numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Early DeBolt.
