Obituary

Winifred B. Teare, 94, formerly of Beaver, died Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Masonic Village at Sewickley. She was born April 7, 1919, in Baltimore, MD and was the daughter of the late William and Alice Reid Buhl. A‚ She graduated from Dormont High School in 1937 and attended Margaret Morrison College at Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon University. A‚ She was a resident of Beaver from 1943 until 2003 when she moved to the North Hills of Pittsburgh.

Wini had a love and passion for dance, especially ballet. She was a founding member of the Pittsburgh Civic Ballet, the predecessor to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. It was through dance that she met the late Glenn Emerson Teare who became her beloved husband of 55 years. A‚ Wini was also an active member of the Beaver United Methodist Church for many years serving in multiple ways including as a lay minister and with the United Methodist Women. She had also worked with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and was a member of the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation.

She was the mother of Carl Teare of New Castle, Alan (Elaine) Teare of Marshall Township and Arlene (Tom) Runzo of Franklin Park; grandmother of William (Joyce), Robert, Emily, Zachary and Danielle; great-grandmother of Weston and Lucas; great-great-grandmother of Issac; aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and the sister of the late William Reid Buhl of Pittsburgh.

Family welcomed friends Monday, October 14 from 9:30 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 am in the Beaver United Methodist Church, 345 College Ave, Beaver, PA 15009.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Memorial Fund of the Beaver United Methodist Church or the Masonic Village Employee Appreciation Fund, Masonic Village at Sewickley, 1000 Masonic Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143 to thank and honor the loving care they provided to Wini.
