Evelyn Marie (Campbell) Gishbaugher, 66, of Darlington Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 7, 2021, following a long bout with COVID-19.
So it goes.
Coming from a large family, Evelyn was given several nicknames. Depending on the brother or sister, she went by “Eve, “Ev”, “Evvy”, “Ed”, and “Eddy”. She also went by “11” … partially because she was slightly better than a perfect 10.
Born on September 7, 1955 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Forest E. “Shorty” and Mildred E. (Black) Campbell. She was also preceded in death by brothers Don and Webb Campbell and sister Sissy Campbell.
Evelyn was a working Mom, having held positions in ceramics, pottery, and metal fabricating plants. Prior to her retirement, she enjoyed being a ‘Lunch Lady’ at Blackhawk Intermediate School. She enjoyed knitting and making holiday themed crafts. She volunteered in the community, primarily as a member of the Little Beaver Lioness Club, in which she rose to the rank of President.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 30 years, JM Gishbaugher; daughter, Julie (Giambrone) Mora; son, Jarrod Giambrone; stepchildren Mike and Jamie Gishbaugher and Jaclyn Gish-Leiberman; her brothers, Chuck, Paul, Gary, Bill, and Tom Campbell; sisters, Judy Bishop and Darla Campbell; 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
A memorial service will be held 6 pm Friday Nov. 12 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Darlington. The Rev. C.F. Hoffman will preside.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Helping Hands Club, or the Little Beaver Lions Club.
