Greg Girvan, 56, of Beaver Falls, passed away in his sleep while at home early Thursday, August 12, 2021.
Greg was a graduate of Blackhawk High School where he was on the varsity wrestling team for four years. Greg graduated with honors with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Community College of Beaver County. He then attended Arizona State University where he began his pursuit of a BA in English, which he earned from Slippery Rock University.
Greg was an active writer. His dream was to be published. He realized his dream as he had several poems and short stories published over the years. He was recently notified that a collection of his short stories is to be published in the Spring of 2022.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Girvan, Jr., and survived by his loving mother, Carolyn (Dowd) Girvan; two brothers, Ken from Arizona, Jeff (Jodi) from Virginia; one sister, Michelle (David) Dunstan from Florida; fiancée Amy Court, of Beaver Falls; six nieces and nephews, Jessie, Samantha, and David J. Dunstan, and Jared, Josh and Jocelyn Girvan; one great nephew Joey; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Private family visitation will be held Tuesday at 8:00am, with open visitation held from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, followed by a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Monica Parish, Chippewa. Father Kim Schreck will officiate.
Private inurnment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery.
