Bernard E. “Bernie” Olshanski

Bernard E. “Bernie” Olshanski, 73, of Brighton Township, passed away Tuesday September 2, 2014 in Heritage Valley Medical Center. Born, October 13, 1940 in Monaca, PA he was the son of the late Bernard and Agnes (Swiatek) Olshanski.

Bernie was a Catholic by faith, a retired Supervisor of the tool and die department of the former Cutler Hammer, Eaton Corporation, Beaver, a dedicated member of the grounds crew and golfer at Blackhawk Golf Course.

He is survived by his loving companion of many years Barbara Hooley and family, two daughters Christine Pechulis and husband Mark of Harrison City, Pa, Amy Olshanski of Dunedin, FL; two grandchildren, Alexa and Nathan Pechulis; a sister Connie Borkovic, and the (late John Borkovic) of Rochester; three nieces Cindy and Bobby Mason and family, Cathy Borkovic, Chris and Todd Majors and family; and many devoted lifelong friends.

Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 8:30 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, Inc., 340 Third Street, Beaver, with a blessing service at the conclusion of the visiting hours. Deacon Tony Giordano of St. John’s, Monaca, will officiate. A private inurnment will follow in the St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Monaca.
