Obituary

Betty J. Chakey, 93, of Darlington Township, died on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Heritage Valley Health System-Sewickley.

Born December 22, 1927, in Emsworth, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Minnie (Arent) Pollock. Betty had many interests and talents. She was a self-taught piano player and an avid seamstress, often sewing her own dresses for another of her passions, square and round dancing. She also enjoyed roller skating.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George J. Chakey Jr. and two brothers, William and Robert Pollock.

Betty is survived by her son, George J. Chakey III; daughter, Georgia (Mark) Sommer; grandchildren, Joshua and Tawny Bettoni; special friend Kathy Conner and her children, Nick, Kristin, Matt and Brandy; several nieces and nephews and her cat and best friend, Minnie.

Honoring Betty’s wishes no services were held.
