Obituary

Gwendolyn Carol Baranowsky, 84, of Chippewa Twp., passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at The Concordia Villas of St. Joseph.

 Born on November 15, 1936 in Cowan, West Virginia, she was the first-born daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Crosby) Sutton.

Carol was raised and went to school in Rochester, and later moved to Freedom with her family.  Her first professional job was at B&W (Babcock &Wilcox). After she married her husband Richard, they moved west to California, where she worked as a Real Estate Agent for over 25 years.  After raising her family in California, she moved back home and resided in Chippewa where she was employed by Beaver Valley Mental Health facility.  Carol had an infectious laugh and a quick wit.  She loved her family and was much loved in return.

Carol is survived by 3 of her 4 children, daughters Maribeth of Burbank, CA, Cheryl Goode of Palmetto, FL and her son James Baranowsky of New Brighton; four grandchildren, Shannon, Erik and Robert Dubois and Jessica Thompsen; four great-grandchildren: Kaylee Zipf, and Ayden, Kyle and Zander Dubois; and three sisters, Frances Ambrose, Sharon Kaye and Virginia Jefferies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janine Dubois; and a brother, James Sutton.

There will not be a public service.  Arrangements were handled by GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.-117 Blackhawk Rd.-Chippewa.
