Obituary

James R. “Jim” Walter, 78, of Chippewa Township, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, in Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born March 14, 1937, in Garrett, PA, a son of the late Merle and Delpha (Pritts) Walter, he was a past employee of the cold draw department of B&W. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Jim was an avid Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports over the years, especially hockey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean Walter (2012); a brother, Gerald Walter, and a sister, Mary Siecker. Surviving are two daughters, Beth Severyn and companion Dan Schwer, Beaver, and Tracy Walko and husband Joseph, Columbiana, OH, and two grandsons and their wives, Ryan and Nicole Severyn, and Christopher and Megan Severyn. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Lee Bittner officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver.
