Obituary

Janyce had the soul of an artist. Painting, poetry and playwrighting became the passion of her life. Her plays were read around the world and moved people to an understanding of the depths of her artistic gift. She saw both pain and joy in the beauty of the world. She received an Honorary Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Johns Hopkins University. She taught at The Pittsburgh Institute of Fine Arts, University of Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University.

 Janyce was a wonderful mother, sister, cousin and friend. She was treasured by all those who knew her, and was kind and generous to those she loved.

She is survived by her only son, Gary Frankowski, her devoted sister Deborah Daquila and her husband George Daquila. Two nephews Alex Daquila and wife Stefanie, George Daquila and wife Amanda. Also great nephews and niece, Colton, Riley and Arabella Daquila. Janyce was especially close to her cousin Mary Jo Paswell and her dear friends, Rosemary Howley, Linda Hurley, and Joan Midon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Dororthy Lapore, and her beautiful little sister Christina Lapore.

The funeral will be a private ceremony with close family members, held at GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.- Chippewa Twp., PA 15010.

Family wishes for memorial contributions to be made to Janyce’s favorite charity- St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

 A special Thank You to the women who work at Villa St. Joseph Memory Care Baden, PA for the gentleness and kindness they showed not only to Janyce but to all those who have been placed in their care. Good Samaritan Hospice is an extraordinary organization, Thank you!
