John Paul Bernauer, 79, of Beaver, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Beaver Elder Care and Rehabilitation.Born September 23, 1936, in Rochester, he was the son of the late John Karl and Charlotte (Poerschke) Bernauer. He was an Army veteran and a retired engineer for Homer Laughlin China. He loved life to the fullest by enjoying long walks with his dog, being with family, traveling to Alaska, and watching Penn State and Pittsburgh sporting events. He enjoyed all aspects of life.Surviving are son, John (Sarah) Bernauer, Chippewa Twp.; two daughters, Linda (Gary) Fredo, Hopewell Twp., Laura Boyd and fianc?? Auguste Pykosh, Derwood, MD; sister, Adele Dengel, Sharon; five grandchildren, Brad and Matt Seger, Amanda Boyd, and Hayley and Nicholas Bernauer; close friend, Olga Kost; and dog Bernie.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandson, Adam Boyd; brother-in-law, Michael Dengel; and beloved dog Shelby.A memorial service will be held Tuesdayat 3:30pm at GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp.,www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com.
