Obituary

Lorie J. Thomas, 60, of Aliquippa, passed away and went on to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 17, 2023, due to a tragic automobile accident.

Born on July 26, 1962, in Aliquippa, she was the daughter of Nancy (Pushak) Thomas and the late Phil Thomas.

Lorie was a graduate of Center High School and CCBC. Lorie had a career as a customer service agent for USAir and for some time now had been her mother’s dedicated caregiver.

Lorie was devoted to her family, as well as to her friends, and an avid charity volunteer. Her nieces and nephews were the absolute joy of her life, and she cheered them on no matter the occasion.  She was the most beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be deeply missed and forever loved.  Lorie’s fervent heart and zeal to help and to be there for others will be the legacy she leaves behind.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her siblings, Deborah  Thomas-Grimes and Ronald Thomas; nieces and nephews, Meg (Tahj) Grimes-Merriman, Jerrah Thomas-Swanson, Conner Thomas, Allison Thomas, and Brady Thomas; great nieces, Pilot and Pax Merriman; as well as best friend, Christine McClure and her extended family; and a wonderful group of friends, too numerous to name.

Lorie was preceded in death by her father, Phil, as well as her beloved dog, Homer.

In accordance with Lorie’s wishes, she will be cremated, and no formal services are being planned at this time.  Memorial contributions in Lorie’s name may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure at www.komen.org.
