Obituary

Margaret J. “Peggy” Coene, 77, of Freedom, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley – Beaver.

Born on May 6, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Dorothy Ambrose.

Peggy was a manufacturing technician for AmpTech for many years and was a member of St. Felix Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and keeping up with family. She is remembered as a hard working, caring, and compassionate person.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Alexandra Brooks, Stephanie (Luke) Henry, and Jordan (April) Brooks; great grandchildren Serenity and Jane; siblings, Mickie Merritt, Vicki Johnston, James (Dawn) Ambrose, and Andrea (Robert) Nesmith; stepmother Jackie Ambrose; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her children, Letitia “Tish” Brooks, and JR Coene.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and a private Celebration of her Life is being planned.
