Obituary

Marie K. McCann, 97, of New Brighton., died Monday, January 17, 2022 in her residence.

Born on January 2, 1925, in Potter, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carl Anton and Jenny Mildred (Furgeson) Biser.

Marie was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Brighton where she served as a deacon, attended the Circle of Friends and the Woman’s Circle. She worked at the soup kitchen and anywhere she could help others. Marie loved life, going to church and going to the Senior Center.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Bernadette) McCann; her brother, Frank (Geraldine) Biser; sisters, Margaret Callahan, Ruth Seidner; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; Brothers and sisters-in law, Lenny McCann, Paul (Laura) McConahy, Joann McCann and Bonnie McCann; also numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. McCann; sons, Art Wheeler, Robert McCann Jr. and Joe Gibson; brothers, William, Eugene and Charles Biser; and sisters, Dorothy Barnhouse and Clara Biser.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM. Pastor Emily Miller will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 1199 3rd Ave. New Brighton, PA 15066.

Private interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
