Mary Ruth Suckow

Mary Ruth Suckow, 85, of Brighton Township, passed away Wednesday July 22 in Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born October 24, 1934 in Delano, TN and was the daughter of the late Donald and Gena Poteet Leatherwood. Mary was a former resident of NY and TN, was a veteran of the US Navy and later served 15 years in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She had served for 11 years as the secretary of the Beaver County Women’s Bowling Association, was a member of the Beaver County Bowling Hall of Fame and was a graduate of the Tennessee Wesleyan University. She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Wayne A. Suckow, sons, Michael (Cheryl) Suckow, West Lafayette, IN and Mark Suckow, Brighton Township, grandchildren Matthew (Kim) and Daniel (Caitlin) Suckow, great-grandchildren, Ella and Luke, brother, Larry Leatherwood, Tennessee, sisters, Jane Grayson, Tennessee and Linda Benefield, Tennessee. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 until 5 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver and a private family burial will take place in Beaver Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
