Nancy A. Close
Center Township

Nancy A. Close, 79, a long time resident of Center passed away Thursday November 20 in Heritage Valley Beaver. She was born May 8, 1935 in Rochester and was the daughter of the late Bruce A. and Dorothy J. Martin Ferguson.

Nancy had worked as a secretary for Hydrol in Rochester and later for Union Building and Loan in Bridgewater until her retirement. She was a member of the Bridgewater United Methodist Church, the Center Grange, a Card Club, the Merrick Art Gallery and the Community Bible Study in Beaver.

She is survived by her husband John N. Close, 2 sons, Bruce D. Close, New Galilee and Jay (Kim) Close, Raccoon Township, 4 grandchildren, Angie Breckenridge, Christie Golixer, Amanda Close and Stacy Kelly, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Betty (Carl) Gussenhoffen, Beaver and a sister-in-law, Mary Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Gene Ferguson.

Friends will be received Saturday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and Sunday 1 until service time at 2 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver. Her pastor Reverend Harriett Hutton will officiate. Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. The family suggests contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to the Bridgewater United Methodist Church, Market Street, Bridgewater, PA 15009.
