Paul James ‘Jim’ Schwertz, Jr.
Brighton Township
Paul James ‘Jim’ Schwertz, Jr., 87, of Brighton Township passed away Saturday in Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Beaver Township.
Paul was born April 18, 1928 in Sewickley and was the son of the late Dora Daugherty Schwertz and Paul J. Swertz, Sr.. He had resided in Brighton Township for 35 years, was a retired craneman for American Bridge, a member of SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church of Beaver and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving him are his wife of 65 years, Mary Schwertz, 2 sons, Michael (Debbie) Schwertz and Robert (Lori) Schwertz and a daughter, Kathleen (George) Evan, 9 grandchildren, Heather DeFazio, Lisa (Brian) Kennedy, Laina (Matt) Machlin, Reed (Brittany Cleary) Schwertz, Dillon Schwertz, Riley Schwertz, Michael (Stephanie) Evan, Matthew (Lacey Wagner) Evan and Caitlin (Jamie) Ashe, 4 great-grandchildren, Moya Ashe, Jacob and Stephen Kennedy and Johnathan Evan, 2 brothers, Charles (Dolores) and Thomas (Gretchen) a sister, Bette Rawlings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Roberta Goss.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 AM in SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Beaver by his pastor Father Robert Miller. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
