Rebecca “”Becki”” Lynn Powers Ekkert
Formerly of Warren, OH and Vanport

Rebecca Lynn Powers Ekkert, 51 formerly of Warren, OH and Vanport, PA died
Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Nashville, TN.

Becki was born on November 21,
1964 to the late Rita Carol Powers of Warren, OH. In addition to her mother
she is proceeded in death by her beloved husband Robert M Ekkert of Chicago
IL. Raised by her loving mother and grandparents (deceased) James L. Powers
and Verna I. Harris Powers of Vanport, PA. She is the niece of the late
James Thomas Powers, Gloria Jean Powers Rosepiler, John Powers, Sr.,
Charlotte Kirkpatrick Powers & Richard Henry. She is survived by her Aunt
Marjorie Powers Henry, Uncle Anthony Rosepiler, Aunt Joan Primo Powers Suman
and cousins Jimmy, Linda, Mike, Diane, Steve, Kathy, Kim, Tina, John, Beth,
Joni and a number of second and third cousins. Becki is also survived by
lifelong friends that she referred to as her brother and sister, Kenny
Walker and Jonita Bambi Simmers Pickett and her children Jonathan, Deaa and
Noelle.

Baptized Catholic and was of Christian faith. She attended Warren
Western Reserve High School and Kent State University. She had recently
lived in Murfreesboro TN, and previously resided in Warren, OH, Vanport, PA,
Chicago, IL, Sharon, PA and Pittsburgh, PA. She had recently worked as a
volunteer at The Way of Hope and was a Children’s Sunday School Teacher. A
friend to many she was known for her infectious laugh, love of music and
being a devoted fan of the band Queen, attending many yearly Queen
Conventions. A loving and giving person, her final act of kindness was to
be an organ donor.

A Memorial Service will be Wednesday June 29 at 1 PM in
the Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA with Reverend David Byers officiating. The
Todd Funeral Home is handling the local arrangements. The family suggests
memorial contributions to be made to any woman’s shelter.
