Vanport

Richard E. Allen, 87, of Vanport, passed away Saturday, March 28 in Franciscan Manor, Patterson Township.

He was born November 23, 1927 in Batavia, NY and was the son of the late Chauncey and Lucille O’Brien Allen. He had lived in Vanport for 17 years and was formerly from the Pittsburgh area. Richard had worked for Campbell Foods Company as a regional sales representative and later for Teledyne Surface Engineering. He was Catholic by faith, was a member of the Monaca American Legion Post 580 and had served in the Navy during WWII.

Surviving are his children, Greg (Ling) Allen, Camillus, NY and Cheryl Allen, Astoria, OR, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Theresa Allen, Lakeview, NY.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother Donald Allen.

There will be no public visitation or service. Interment will be in the Cemetery of The Alleghenies. TheTodd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver is in charge of arrangements.
