Obituary

Sandra Jane Diffenbacher Garman, 61, of South Beaver Township, went to be with the Lord on September 13th, 2021 surrounded by her family. 

Born December 17th, 1959 in Grove City, she was the daughter of Geraldine Diffenbacher and the late James Diffenbacher.

In addition to her mother, Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Paul Garman; daughters, Erin (Glen) Sovich, Stephanie (Michael) Stuck, and Emily (Mathew) Dunning; her 7 grandchildren, Mara, Claire and Jack Sovich, Addison and Elias Stuck, and Liam and Charly Dunning;  her sister, MaryBeth (Joseph) Tress; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Diffenbacher.

Sandy graduated from CCBC and was a Registered Nurse for the Beaver Medical Center for 25 years. Sandy’s smile and laugh was contagious. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandy’s token phrase was “because I can!”  She showed that determination as she fought her long and difficult battle with Huntington’s Disease with courage, strength and unwavering faith.  Sandy loved going on vacations with her family and enjoyed attending service and activities at Chippewa United Methodist Church. 

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and Thursday from 10am until time of services at 11am in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp., www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com.  Pastor Rod Smith will officiate.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the wonderful team of doctors and nurses at UPMC Department of Neurology, Dr. Suski, Charles McCune, Pastor Rod Smith, the family’s caregiver Kayla Castille, Alrene and the staff at UPMC Family Hospice.
