Obituary

Stephen F. “Ports” Porto, 62, of New Galilee died Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Friendship Ridge. Born October 20, 1953 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Richard F. and Beverly A. (Shanks) Porto. He attended Holy Family Parish in New Brighton, was the owner/operator of Porto Plumbing, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in New Brighton and the Owls Club of Beaver Falls. Steve was an incredibly dedicated, loving husband to his wife Jamey and her best friend. Steve was the life of every party. With his great sense of humor and uncanny story-telling ability, he’d always have everyone in stitches. “Ports” was an avid pool league player and a past champion of the Beaver County Men’s Pool League. He was also a tinkerer, as Jamey calls it. It gave him great joy working on his cars, boats, tractors and toys. He will be fondly missed by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jamey L. (Tritschler) Porto; a brother, Richard (Vicki) Porto of Center Twp.; a sister, Lisa Porto of New Brighton; a mother-in-law, Jeanne Thomas of Chippewa Twp.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph Tritschler II, Jeffrey and Darlene Tritschler, Jill McDowell, Jan and Sean Livingston, and Johnny and Kelly Tritschler; beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and his dog, Oscar-Buddy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dr. Joseph P. Tritschler; step-father-in-law, Robert Thomas; nephew Bryan Reynolds, and sister-in-law, Faith Tritschler and his beloved dogs Max, Cody & Zachary. Friends will be received Sunday from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm in the Gabauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 1133 Penn Avenue New Brighton www.gabauerfuneralhome.com where a Blessing Service will be held Monday at 10am. Father Tom Kredel will officiate. Interment will follow in White Church Cemetery, Darlington Twp. A luncheon to celebrate his life with family and friends will be held afterwards at Chippewa United Methodist Church, 3454 Darlington Rd., Beaver Falls, PA 15010. If you desire to make a contribution in his name, his favorite charity is the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Center Township PA 15001.
